Post-doctoral opening in the ATLAS group of Paris (LPNHE)

The Paris ATLAS group is opening a three-year post-doc position at the LPNHE. The position is funded by the CNRS/IN2P3 and will begin on 1st October 2013.

The Laboratoire de Physique Nucleaire et des Hautes Energies (LPNHE) is a mixed research unit under the joint supervision of CNRS/IN2P3, Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI) and Université Paris Diderot (Paris VII). The ATLAS group at LPNHE is composed of about 30 physicists and engineers, heavily contributing to physics analysis and with strong experience in detector design, construction and commissioning. Our physics interests include the study of the Higgs boson properties and the measurements of top quark mass and production rate. We are very active in the Insertable B-Layer (IBL) construction and R&D studies for the track-trigger upgrade (FastTrack) and the Phase-II upgrade of the ATLAS tracking system. Our laboratory takes part in the Tier-2 GRIF in Paris area.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the top quark activities and to the group responsibilities and commitments in ATLAS. He/She will be based in Paris with frequent travels to CERN.
Candidates should have a PhD in experimental high-energy physics by the date of appointment. Applicants should send curriculum vitae, list of most relevant publications, brief statement of research interests and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to :
