published on May 29, 2019

by christophe balland - 29 May

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Laboratoire de Physique Nucléaire et de Hautes Energies (LPNHE) at Sorbonne University in Paris, France, to work in observational cosmology with large spectroscopic surveys. The appointment is for two years and is provided through a national grant from the Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules (IN2P3) of the french CNRS. Full funding is available for conferences, travel, personal equipment and publications.

A part of the research of the successful candidate is expected to focus on the Lyman alpha correlation analyses in the early data of the DESI experiment, in strong connexion with the LPNHE group interests. Applications with expertise in BAO analyses and in the generation of mock catalogs are strongly welcome. For the other part of the work, the candidate will be free to carry out an independent research program in relation with DESI science, provided it generates strong interaction with other LPNHE members. The candidate is expected to participate in the activities of the laboratory such as workshops, seminars and outreach, and to mentor students.

The LPNHE BAO group is involved in both the eBOSS and DESI experiments. It is part of the Cosmology and Dark Energy team, whose members are also involved in the LSST and Subaru HSC surveys. The BAO group currently includes 4 researchers and 2 PhD students.

Applications should include a CV, a list of publications and a brief statement of research. All this material has to be uploaded at the following url:
